Welcome to MTRCCA

Middle Tennessee R/C Clubs Association, AMA Chapter 65, consists of local flying clubs in the Middle Tennessee area. There's more to model aviation than simply our respective clubs. In recognition of this, MTRCCA exists to:

promote fellowship among pilots of different clubs.
arrowpool resources to achieve larger events while sharing the workload.
arrowraise money for each club that participates in MTRCCA.

Swap Meet '08 - November 1, 2008 line

MTRCCA hosted its third annual Swap Meet at the huge Al Menah Shriners Temple in Nashville. With over 13,000 square feet of R/C items on 150+ tables, MTRCCA enjoyed its largest event ever! Over 170 shoppers came through general admission and we raffled nearly $1,000 worth of prizes. A big thanks to our vendors, prize donors, and shoppers who made it all possible!

3rd Annual Fall Fly-In - September 6-7, 2008 line
spacer
MTRCCA hosted its 3rd Annual Fly-In. The weather started off a little "iffy" on Saturday but the sun came out later in the day and of course, Sunday was clear, blue skies. We registered 70 pilots and more than 270 spectators paid admission to view the event! A 4 year old child who out flew many adults, numerous turbine jets, 50% planes, 3d helicopers, and huge raffle prizes were but some of the weekend's highlights. Please help us thank our generous sponsors!

Fellowship Fly-In Fights off the Cold and Rain for a Nice Day Afterall line

The Fellowship Fly-In got off to a tough start with drizzly weather, overcast skies, and low temperatures. But by mid morning, the weather had improved and the day was enjoyable. Although the weather supressed turnout somewhat, I think everyone agrees there was more club-to-club social interaction that last year.

Swap Meet Success!

Lots of people, lots of tables, lots of fun! MTRCCA's second annual Swap Meet at the Woodbine Cumberland Church was nearly four times larger than last year's! We sold completely out of the 75 tables on hand, and around 115 shoppers came through general admission. The parking lot at the church was filled to capacity and we could not have fit many more tables into the building. We combined the prizes from the rained out Fall Fly-in with the Swap Meet to give away more than $2,000 worth of prizes. A big thank you to our sponsors! Glen Batson took a few pictures of the Swap Meet early in the morning:

Fall Fly-In Gets a Great Start But . . .
line

MTRCCA's second annual fall fly-in was off to a great start! In the first several hours, 84 pilots registered, accompanied by countless family members, spouses, pit crews, and friends. Plus, over 100 spectators rushed through the admission gates. And then the monsoon hit. Rain. Wind. LOTS of wind and rain blew in so fast, many were caught completly off guard. And so it stormed from noon Saturday until dark. And despite our hopes, Sunday turned into more of the same. About 10:00am on Sunday, we conceded the fly-in to the weather.

Before the bad weather, we took a few photographs of the fly-in that was and you can just imagine the fly-in that would have been! A BIG Thanks to our Sponsors!
